... a story to tell
Once upon a time... These words are not the beginning of a fairy tale but of the story of Hotel Haverkamp. In 1969 a married couple named Haverkamp handed over their hotel to an ambitious young man and his lovely wife. Manfred Seiffert, as this young man was known, had long been working towards this dream. At the age of 14 he began his training in the hotel trade, gathering experience as a waiter in America and learning everything else that he needed for independence from the school of hotel management in Heidelberg. With his wife Marlis, he tried his luck in Bremerhaven and turned the small inner-city hotel into a prestigious four-star establishment with 85 rooms and to date the only swimming pool.
The current Managing Director, Martin Seiffert, was, as they say, born for gastronomy. Following his chef training in a five-star hotel and his degree in Economics, Martin Seiffert took over the Haverkamp in 2004 from his parents. With him came a fresh outlook, many new ideas and plenty of restructuring. And the story goes on. Perhaps Laurens, the young son of the Managing Director, will one day wish to continue this wonderful tradition.
